Dear Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition Member:

On behalf of the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (ACIBC), we would like to thank you for all of your support during this past year. Indeed, 2007 proved to be a time of growth and continued success. Since the conclusion of Action Days 2007, the ACIBC leadership, including the co-chairs and regional board, increased their recruitment efforts, reaching out to numerous aircraft carrier suppliers about membership in the ACIBC. To date, more than 45 new individuals representing more than 15 companies have joined our growing organization. This growth should boost attendance at the upcoming fourth Annual ACIBC Action Days.

This year's conference will be held on April 23 and 24, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill on New Jersey Avenue, just a short walk from Capitol Hill office buildings. Your participation is critical to making Action Days 2008 a success. Registration will begin at 1 p.m. on April 23 with the schedule of activities starting at 3 p.m. The first day will consist of a new interactive Regional Board Meeting and briefings with Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding and the U.S. Navy. Later that evening, we will host a reception and dinner with a keynote speech by U.S. Representative Gene Taylor (D-MS), the Chair of the Subcommittee on Sea Power and Expeditionary Forces and a supporter of aircraft carrier programs. Supply chain representatives from Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding also will be in attendance at this year's events.

On Thursday, April 24, ACIBC members will attend a breakfast from 8-9 a.m. on Capitol Hill followed by pre-arranged Congressional meetings. You will receive your individualized schedule and meeting agenda as we get closer to Action Days. Every effort will be made to obtain morning meetings to support your travel schedules.
 
We request that you register for the conference before Friday, March 21, 2008 to ensure you obtain the block room rate of $279. Advance registration is also important because it enables us to effectively plan your schedule and ensure that this event is enjoyable for you. You may register for the Action Days online at http://www.acibc.org.  You may also book your hotel room through the ACIBC web site or call the Hyatt at (202) 737-1234.  (The ACIBC conference rate should be mentioned when making reservations). Once you have indicated your plans to attend, we will arrange meetings with your Members of Congress. In the meantime, we have attached a document highlighting travel and hotel information.
