Congressman Joe Donnelly Visits Babcock & Wilcox Nuclear Operations Group, Inc. in Mount Vernon, Indiana

Donnelly said, “Indiana is home to many innovative businesses, like Babcock & Wilcox, that play a key role in maintaining our national security. Today, Admiral Richardson and I saw firsthand the critical work being done by the workers here in Mount Vernon to support vessels such as submarines and aircraft carriers that make the United States Navy an unparalleled force around the world. Together, we toured the facility, were briefed on Babcock & Wilcox’s current and future projects, and spoke with the Hoosiers who make it all possible. Hoosier workers are among the most talented in the world, and it was a privilege to spend time with them today. In the coming weeks, I will be working with my colleagues on the Armed Services Committee to write a bipartisan defense budget bill that supports our servicemembers and provides the resources we need to protect Hoosiers and our nation. Maintaining a strong Navy fleet now and in the future must be a top priority in that effort.”

Congressman Charlie Dent Visits PRL, Inc. in Cornwall, Pennsylvania

"The Navy plays an absolute essential role in providing this order and stability that so many of us take for granted," he said. "And we have countries in Europe investing very little in their own defense. This has been a bone of contention for us. They need to increase their level of expenditures for their own defense, and the same with our friends in Japan. The U.S. Navy can't shoulder the burden all on its own anymore; we need some friends and allies to help carry the burden."
