FACILITY TOURS

ACIBC helps organize and schedule tours of member facilities with their Members of Congress. The tours are typically a 1-2 hour visit to a facility that allows the Member and/or their staff to meet the employees, learn about the work and see the importance of the aircraft carrier program and the industrial base to the community.

While the general structure and layout of the visit is up to the ACIBC member, typical format allows the Member of Congress to meet with company leadership team, take a tour of the manufacturing facility and address employees directly. If the company is interested in inviting local media, time at the end of the visit may be allotted for a company representative to take questions from the press.

HOW CAN ACIBC HELP?

  • Scheduling: ACIBC can work with companies and the district director/scheduler in the office of their Member of Congress to coordinate availability and timing for a tour. We’re happy to handle all of the logistical scheduling needs on the company’s behalf.
  • Resources: ACIBC can provide resources to support the congressional facility tour, including up-to-date messaging on the carrier program, leave-behind materials from ACIBC Action Days, posters and hats for Ford-class carriers under construction.
  • Media: ACIBC can help invite local media to the tour. We’ll put together and issue a media advisory, press release, and social media posts for both the Member of Congress and the member company.
